Guns and Roses pilot episode beats Amaya in nationwide ratings

"Guns and Roses" starring Robin Padilla and Bea Alonzo had a successful pilot last night, June 6, by posting a rating of 29.9% beating its rival show, the Marian Rivera-epicserye "Amaya", based on the data provided by Kantar Meda / TNS.

It ranked 2nd over-all, placing behind "100 Days To Heaven" with 32.9% rating.

ABS-CBN's rating figures last Monday were so much lower than last week, especially when compared with last Friday's ratings when "Mara Clara" aired its finale and scored its highest rating ever, with 43.4%.

With its new timeslot, there was a big drop on the ratings of "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin".

It usually had a 30%-plus ratings and ranked in the Top 3 when it was airing right after "100 Days To Heaven". Take for example during last week:

May 30 - 33.6% (2nd)

Andrew Wolff is Showtime's new "hurado"

Andrew Wolff is one of the two new judges or "hurado" on ABS-CBN's Showtime this week, starting today, Monday, May 23.

Last Saturday, two judges were eliminated or were made "burado" and they were Green Rose actor Janus del Prado and Mara Clara star Kiray Celis, after getting more than 25% EVICT votes.

The two judges left were Ryan Bang, who's now on his 30th week as Showtime judge, and Regine Angeles on her 3rd week.

It was Andrew Wolff himself who made the spoiler on Twitter when he posted yesterday:

@iamandrewwolff: "Guys, confirm na po. Hurado po ako bukas sa #Showtime First time po akong kakanta sa harap ng mga tao! Pasensya na kung hindi maganda! :p"

Andrew, who's considered among the "yummiest models" in the country, also shared on Twitter how excited he is to sing live and dance like Justin Timberlake for the Madlang Pipol, which he will be doing for the very first time.

But Andrew immediately deleted that post last night. (Probably he was told to delete it so as not to spoil the show's episode today.)

Unfortunately, I was able to read it last night haha.

Andrew Wolff as Showtime judge could be an early promotion for the movie "Private Benjamin" topbilled by Showtime resident judge Vice Ganda and also stars Andrew Wolff.

LATEST UPDATE
The other new "hurado" is the newly-crowned Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2011 Shamcey Supsup.

Vica Ganda and Andrew Wolff, Supsupan na!!! Bang Bang Regine!!! That's the set of judges on Showtime for this week.

GenSan's True Colors is Showtime Season 3 Grand Champion / Winner

Another GenSan pride emerged as Grand Champion on ABS-CBN's talent program "Showtime".

The Showtime Season 3: All-Star Barangayan Grand Finals was held this morning, May 14, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City and proclaimed as grand winner was the group "True Colors" from General Santos City.

The group is now the 2nd from GenSan to win on Showtime. The first was Season 1 grand winner XB GenSan.

"True Colors" got a near-perfect final score of 9.92, with all judges except one gave a perfect 10. The group won P1 million cash prize plus another million peso cash for Barangay West Dadiangas in GenSan, the barangay they're representing in the show.

Watch a video of True Colors' winning performance on Showtime:
Here's the final and official results for Showtime Season 3 Grand Finals:

1. True Colors from Barangay West Dadiangas, General Santos City 9.92 - Grand Champion
2. Vision 20 from Brgy. Sinalhan, Sta. Rosa, Laguna 9.83
3. Yuri Crew from Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental 9.75
3. The Next Level Octomix Dancers from Brgy. Libis, Baesa, Caloocan City 9.75
5. Negros Dance Collective from Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental 9.67

8. Cool Guyz from Brgy. San Miguel, Majayjay, Laguna 8.58
9. Asian Pride from Brgy. Old Zaniga, Mandaluyong City 8.46
10. Tribos Humanikas from Brgy. 176 Bagong Silang, Caloocan City 8.25

The "Best Intro" award was given to Brgy. Poblacion, Guihulngan, Negros Oriental who cheered for Street Noise. They won a cash prize of P100,000.

"True Colors" was able to make it to Twitter's trending topics in the Philippines but the groups "Yuri Crew" and "Negros Dance Collective" who finished 3rd and 5th respectively were among the trending topics on Twitter not only in the Philippines but also worldwide.

I'm actually rooting ever since for Negros Dance Collective coz their performance was something new and of world-class caliber. What the group did was something you would love to watch over and over again.

I think including kids on the judges' line-up was a bad idea.

Judge Vice Ganda and host Kim Atienza revealed after the grand finals which group they actually loved to win and it's Negros Dance Collective.

True Color's victory as Showtime Season 3 Grand Champion just shows that GenSan is indeed the home of champions. Boxing champs Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire Jr, PBB Big winner Melai Cantiveros, Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2011 Shamcey Supsup and Showtime's Season 1 Grand Champion are all from GenSan.

LAST GROUP GOT A SCORE OF 1 FROM JUDGE XIAN LIM
While the scores were being shown, a score of 1 was shown coming from judge Xian Lim for the group "Street Noise".

The said score pulled down the group's final average score, which when computed resulted to 9.375.

Though Street Noise won't win even if it was a score of 10, the group still didn't deserve to be given a score of 1.

Vice Ganda defended his crush Xian Lim on Twitter for the latter's controversial score. According to Vice, it was a system error.

vicegandako: "10 ang totoong score ni @XianLimm dun sa isang group. System error kaya 1 lang ang lumabas sa monitor. Wala syang kasalanan."

And since coming from Vice it was supposed to be 10, Street Noise's score should have been 9.75, tied in 3rd place with Yuri Crew and The Next Level Octomix Dancers.

If it was a system error or there was a possibility of a system error, then it's also possible that there were also errors in the scores for other groups.
